bogging

bogging

I have a 89 b16a and when i step on it the motor will bog, the rpms will drop for a second or 2 and then they will shoot up and move. it doesnt always do this. anyone have any ideas on what my problem might be?

Could be a multitude of things. Here's a list of things you might want to check/replace

Fuel Filter
Air Filter
Ignition Timing
Valve Lash (If it has solid lifters)
Compression test
Spark plugs
Plug wires
Distributor Cap & Rotor
Fuel Pressure Regulator

Most of that stuff you can check w/o having to replace it.
Some of it, (Fuel/Air filter) is just easier to replace.

how old is your catalytic converter?? it could be clogged

I'd start by pulling a plug to see if maybe your have a bad injector. Could be a faulty sensor, any codes?
