Catalytic converter problem

Hey found out that my engine light came on yesterday and used an obd 2 to find out what the problem was and turned out to be the cat converter. Anybody know how much it will cost to replace or fix this issue?

thanks

not sure, but it could be the o2 sensor at the cat. not necessarily the cat itself.
if it is indeed the cat then you can get a universal one for under 150 (install extra).

Should I change it now or when my emission test expires? Does it make a difference whether the cat converter is clogged or not? thanks

Makes a huge difference.

And there is no code that tells you "replace your catalytic converter" So I hope you had it diagnosed properly. Cat's only fail when something upstream causes them to.
