Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor (CRV)
I have a question...
I have a friend who is in need of engine work on her '99 CRV. She didn't replace the timing belt and it broke ruining the head on her B20Z.
I spoke with a couple of shops about replacing the motor and one location mentioned that the CRV has a crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor only found on USDM motors and therefore we can't use a JDM (isn't the B20Z only USDM anyways?).
Is this another name for the crankshaft position sensor?
Can anyone confirm this? Is the CSF only on the '97-'98 CRV (B20B), or is it also found on the B20Z from '99 and up? Is it just the crankshaft position sensor?
Thanks.

well its just a secondary crank position sensor to work in conjunction with the crank position sensor in the dizzy.
There is a real simple fix to get around this though and it just requires using a few wire-taps to steal the dizzys crank position sensor signal.
Heres a link that will explain what i'm talking about.

Thanks Zeeman.
Turns out my friend has decided to stick with her mechanic and just get him to replace the head. Price is actually pretty good.
But thanks for the good info anyway.
