d16 turbo

i currently hav a 95 si coupe with D16 SOHC motor. the motor has about 240 on it,needs a full tune up and gaskets and the clutch is messin around. I decided to buy a new D16 SOHC motor and tranny, instead of wasting money fixing the old motor with high clicks. When I get the new motor, im bossting it! any suggestions for the boost, as far as, should i do anything to the internals? intake manifold? gaskets? or should i just boost the
stock motor? lemme kno tks.

You don't need to build the internals if your boosting. It all depends on how much power you want to make. But if your planning on rebuilding the motor, why not just rebuild the old one? You should do a compression test and leak down test and see where your at first. But tonnes of guys boost motors on stock internals. It all depends on what you HP goals are. Wait for the turbo guys to jump in as they will be able to give you more detailed info.

i was thinkin of rebuildin the motor, but what its gonna cost to rebuild it, i'd be better off buyin a new motor and tranny. im lookin to get about 210-230 at the wheels what do u think?

200-230whp is attainable on a stock D16. I'd recommend staying at or below your 210whp goal though.

However, building D16's can be a great alternative. A popular option are the Vitara pistons, and Tuner Toys rods. In fact I still have a few sets of those, so if you need them let me know. In any event, the Vitara/TT rod combo is cable of 400whp+, and are very cost effective.

210-230whp will be fine as long as your engine is in good shape and its been tuned well.
