d16y8 in 92 cx
I recently dropped a 98 d16y8 into my 92 cx. Ran perfectly, burnt no oil, plenty of power. Last night I put in a p28 because I was runnin a p06. So I was cruisin on the highway and revved it out to 7g-ish and it suddenly lost some power and the heat started climbin. I got off the gas and the temp dropped back down to normal. The car now takes quite a few cranks to start and idles like its got a big cam in it, sounds like its got some excesive valve tapping. Im thinkin the timing belt jumped a tooth, any second opinions?
I havent revved it past about 2g just for fear of vtec smashing the valves harded than im thinkin they are now.
Thanks, Steve

you never revved your car past 2k? man.. how did you go up hills? I would hate to be behind you lol.
Anyways, i would do a compression test first. Report what numbers. Remember to do it with a warm motor and hold the throttle at wide open.
