Distributor change now car won't start!
Hey TCC,
I purchased used OEM OBD0 B16 dizzy to replace my current one due to a defective sensor. First mistake was I forgot to mark down the exact position it was in for installing the new dizzy so i messed up on that. Second I didn't set cylinder #1 @ TDC and didn't take off the cap and set the rotor to spark plug #1. The car started but would bogg out and shut off, it did this twice and now the car will not start at all. Engine is getting fuel, spark and the wires are in the correct firing order.
So today I will be heading back to the car to try and fix this and wanted to know if anyone can help me out or give me any input on properly getting the car started from a distributor install not done properly.
First I'm going to set cylinder #1 @ TDC, set rotor to spark plug #1. Then if she doesn't start I'll advance/retard the timing.
LET ME KNOW TCC!
Thanks!

For it to start and bog/stall at idle, the firing order is most likely off.
Even if the ignition timing is off a bit, it won't really bog. If you are sure that the firing order is right, just loosen the distributor bolts and rotate the dizzy until the vehicle stops to bog.

The car will run just fine with dizzy max retarded or advanced. Now setting it tdc is pointless. Its designed so you can only install it one way. Unless you force it on.
Here is the right firing order
