Can anyone point me in the right direction for info on B series ECU's? Specifially what will work with a B16A 2nd gen.

a p30 is a b16 ecu.

You can use a chipped p28 ecu with a b16 program on the chip, if the car is obd1, if the car isn't obd1, you can use an obd2-obd1 or obd0-obd1 ecu conversion harness along with a chipped p28.

Ecu

Hello everyone i am in the same boat.

I had my ecu chiped by split fire while on a dyno for top power 5 years ago. I had put another b16 2 weeks ago and now i think the ecu is making my engine flood. it idles really roughly at almost all starts, if left alone it will turn of and flood over and you can smell gas like crazy.

i am in need of buying a b16 obd0 ecu or getting someone to lend it to me so i can see if that is the problem

Thanks for the feedback guys. I just got a B16 swap and borrowed a ECU from my mechanic, a chipped Type R, while waiting for mine to arrive. Not sure if it was a CTR or a ITR. I got the stock ECU for the engine installed and besides a little better gas mileage and Vtec engaging at 6,200rpm vs 5,800rpm with the previous one, when driving with the AC on it just bogs. You could feel it a little bit with the old ECU but now at a stop with the AC on, sometimes I'll need to hit 5,000 rpm for the car to pick up speed. It's like night and day.

I'm going to get my mechanic's Type R ECU. The engine felt like it had a lot more *****. I wasn't sure what other options were out there. Plus getting a chipped ECU seems to be the way to go as the program can be modified for future upgrades or engine swaps.

I have a b18C ITR, VTEC is about 5500-6000RPMS, if that helps. (Not for sale)
