ECU Reprogramming

Quick question for you guys. Can a GSR ECU be re-programmed with B16 parameters?

I'd answer this.. but I'll let the man in my sig. answer it when he comes home.

If it is obd1 and you do chip it, i definately recommend zeeman for this service.

yes, when the ecu is "chipped" you can then run whatever program you want on the chip.

I've used a chipped p28 to run everything from a nitrous b20vtec, boosted single cams, boosted b16/b18/b20s, h22's boosted and n/a built, just recently did a F20B swapped lude, used one on an accord single cam.

A chipped p30, p61, p08 or p72 is the same, they're all vtec ecus, which can run non vtec setups if necessary.

A chipped p06, pr4, p75 can run any non-vtec setup, or you can easily add the vtec components to them and turn it into a p28.

thing is his profile says 98 civic, so I'm guessing he wants to use a 98 (OBD2a) integra ECU to run a B16 engine.

so no, you can't chip an OBD2, at least not from what I've seen, maybe there's been progress in the last 2 years or whatever...

but you can use a jumper harness and run a chipped OBD1 ECU with any map you want.

Thanx guys. The car is a 98 with a 2nd gen B16. The car in converted to 0BD1 and is running a virgin GSR ECU, but I was told a while back ( I think it was by zeeman) that the car would run better with a B16 ECU. All that is done to the motor it I/H/E and will most likely stay that way. I think my best bet is to contact zeeman and go from there. Cheers.
