ek alternator

ek alternator

trying to replace alternator on my ek sedan got everything out except the long bolt on the bottom. took nut off and does come out with hammering. i tried chisling the flat part of the head and it doesnt move it seems like its seized on there. anyone came across this problem. i dont have heat torch so im stuck. any suggestions.thanks

its just seized. Put the nut on it and hammer the living crap out of it. Spray it with pen. fluid and let it sit as long as possible too.

well i was hammering it and the thread got screwed so kept hitting it and its not coming. i tried chisling the flat part of the bolt and its not moving.

thats why you should of put the nut on it

get a bigger hammer :P Too bad you don't have a set of oxygen acetylene torches to get some serious heat on it. Propane won't cut it btw.

cant really get a good hit at it cause the frame is rite there. i lower teh mount a bit but still not enuff

If you have the upper bolt undone then you can pivot the alternator back and forth to try and free it up. I would also try a pry bar between the frame and the bolt.
