fuel pressure regulator??
got a 93 HB 1.5, has air intake, spoon chip, pipe and complete bodykit. I want to install this F.P.R made by mp2, not much for instrucions tho! I do know that theres a in&out for fuel and one for air but where do i hook up the air?? and what pressure should i run at?? i would like to install today Thanks for the help

pics would help but i remember when i installed mine i had to cut the stock regulator in half and attach the New FPR to it. But IMHO those things just waste gas. they are only good when you have an upgraded fuel rail, pump, and injectors and running some kind of forced induction or have a bulit N/A engine.

well usually FPR's just bolt up to the fuel rail and the vacuum source is the intake manifold (use the stock FPR's vacuum source).
But it sounds to me like you have a generic FPR, which are a lot more involved to install and to be quite frank, i'm not even sure if you can use it with the stock fuel rail.
We need more info on the FPR you are trying to install.
Make sure to have a fuel pressure guage on the car as well, otherwise you'll never know what the fuel pressure is set to. On a stock d15b7 the fuel pressure is roughly 38psi with the vacuum line attached.

Well this one in the pic you have it looks like you may have to use an aftermarket fuel rail. if it looked like this one http://www.bmracing.com/index.php?id...subcat=&pid=71 all you would have to do is modify the stock fpr and mount it like the stock one.

yup think your right, may need that fuel rail. that sucks i wanted to GetRdone! i also wanted to install my spoon chip today too but im not to sure if i wanta puck around with the brain box, if someone knows how to install this chip i gotta box of beer with your name on it! ps. must have some kinda shop i dont work outside in the winter or we could use my heated shop if you happen to be in the area(Port Hope)

I don't suggest you run either the Generic FPR or the spoon chip. The generic fpr is no use to you and may only be useful when stretching the capablities of the stock 240cc injectors. The issue with rising the fuel pressure is you loose the atomization and spray pattern designated for that injector pintle style and proper fuel delivery only deteriates from there on. Depending on how high of pressure you go it can be hard on the fuel pump and at one point it will actually resist the injector pintle so much that the injectors won't open. This is dangerous especially in vaccum assited FPR. I am not a fan of aftermarket FPR when not needed and other things in the fuel system could use more attention before that.
Also the spoon chip is not what you want. Each car is differant even if we are talking the same engine there are still many variables that differ. The spoon chip is just a generic Basemap setout to increase fuel consuption and allow no real peerformance gain. If you want your car to have good fuel economy and allow for best performance the you might aswell spend your money on a street or dyno tune. You couldn't be happier if you did!

and good luck finding someone that will chip your ecu for free.
Installing the chip is more involved than you think, you have to solder a socket, another little chip, a resistor and a couple of capacitors to the ecu, unless of course you already have a chipped ecu, in which case its a matter of opening the ecu (5 screws), removing the old chip (pry it out) and installing the new chip in the proper orientation.
And you definately don't need a spoon chip and an adjustable FPR, the spoon chip will add more than enough fuel into your engine, and prolly let you rev to the sky (which isn't a good thing).

no point modding a d15b7 unless its boosting it....i/h/e won't do squat on that engine, especially for what it'll cost ya. Toss a turbo kit on that engine and have some fun. If you do a home-made turbo kit it can be done for pretty cheap, just be prepared to spend some money on fuel system upgrades and tuning.

maybe i should find a v-tec? im not looking to spend alot on the car just need abit more get up and go, im use to drive¨n a 350crate motor witch will be coming back out this summer. ive got a 86chev short, step side 2wd slamd 6 and choped 6 every thing new ruffly 16 000 invested, silly i know but im gunna make the cover of Truckin mag when im done!

sweet, should post some pics.
If ur gunna swap in a SOHC VTEC engine, make sure to use the SI tranny, the DX tranny sucks.
You can find a d16z6 or d16y8 or JDM d15b with a tranny for pretty cheap on these boards sometimes, from a junkyard/importer you'll pay a premium price. You can re-use your mounts, axles, shiftlinkage and ecu (just have it chipped and add the vtec components to it) with any 1992-2000 d-series engine/tranny.
