How do I know if it's Vtec?

So I picked up the car last night. Runs pretty good.
The code on the timing cover says D16Y7 (I think). I don't think this is a vtec engine... Seems slower than the old D15B7...
Maybe it needs a good tune? I'll take pics of the engine bay on the weekend. I have my camera here, but no cable to connect it to the computer... BOO

so You wanna know it's a vtec? The simplest way, take your car on a empty road and just push your pedal to the metal. Listen to the music of the engine and know that you are better than everyone else on the road but since your on a empty road i guess you got no competition anyway
