i think i might need a new ecu. is there any way of testing to see if the computer is done or not.


the facts are


I was traveling on the 401 ( expressway) and my car decided to shut off. I tried starting it and it trying to turn over.

- i know its not my fuel pump - i heard it pump

-i thought it was my distributer- so i replaced it

- getting no spark to spark plugs


if you know of a way to check to see if the computer is cooked or not please pm me thx


and if i do where do i get 1

 

crack open the computer. When mine went there was visible burn marks on the board.

is there a way to check if the main relay is toast. and where can you buy 1?

Could be main relay - if it doesn't click usually means its no good. but hit the scrap yard or borrow a friends.

Fuel pump resistors (or whatever they are) are known to blow on ecus. it happened to me and its happened to others.
