Hello!
I'm trying to figure out what I need for my ignition system. I've looked but it's all so confusing with JDM USDM ETC. My motor is said to be from one model, specs show from another, sites conflicting etc.

Build Current:
ODB 0 B16a1

Will be:
OBD I B20vtec Turbo

What would you recommend for a ignition system. I've seen the MSD systems, but what all would be recommend?

 

What's your hp goal? stock ignition is good with plugs gapped tighter.
depends what dizzy you have to, to run a msd setup you'll need a external coil dizzy.

 

I was tihnking about getting the MSD Distributer.

stay with OEM parts.

You don't need any MSD stuff, I've seen sooo many of those MSD 6AL systems fail or cause odd misfire issues. Their external coils are OK, but I still recommend just using the OEM parts. They're good for crazy amounts of power.

 

It's funny because I was thinking about this today as well. The OEM parts must be more than capable, because i very rarely see MSD ignitions under the hood, either N/A or boosted.
