JDM engine and etest...HELP!!!!!

Alright so my female friend has a del sol with a jdm 1.5 in it and it failed the etest so i took a look at it and it has the egr port blocked off and i'm not seeing any harness that i could hook an egr up to if i took the plate off, guessing it has the jap harness in it then. so my question is what is everyone doing to pass etests with having jap engines...is anyone able to without the egr, if not how are you hooking one up?
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

try using Guranteed to pass.....or use Methyl Hydrate (methanol)...it should do the trick....also there is a possiblity that the O2 sensor is not functioning properly....

this will not help if it is missing critcal emissions equipment

I will have to see if they will test it as a hot rod...its a stock replacement engine that is the only thing that might keep them from not testing it that way

make sure all your emission components exist and in proper working condition. that means egr/cat/o2 sensors etc.

my jdm itr motor passed e-test with flying colours under hot rod with a dyno tuned ecu. if you were unable to do so, check your ecu checked out, and get it tuned

O2 or Cat needs changed

my egr is blocked off like yours and I passed the emissions no problem,
you may need a new o2 or cat. I have same engine and same spot plated no problem passing the test for me!

i know if the cat was replaced it might help since the numbers are not that far off...but if it had an egr that would solve all the problems most likely since its meant to be there and it would put the numbers where they should be...egr makes a huge difference in overall emissions...NOx is usually way high when there is no egr

95Si what kind of cat are you using and do you have any other mods Intake, header exhaust? at all

well your motor must run pretty clean then! very nice.
those magnaflow cats work pretty good...had one before only thing is they wear out after about 2 etest periods (N) but then again they only cost me 60$ lol
O2sensor does look fairly old but no codes are present.
Is there any way to hook up an egr with the JDM harness?

Not sure

Not 100% sure if you can hood it up on a jdm harness, may need a new harness but again im just learning this stuff so, try O2 never hurts to have anew one I can actually sell you one if you need (ntk) 75$ 4 wire for 1.5L.

magna flow good but like you said its toast after two test....but if you get care registered two years then you can change it once every two years, did you pass the e-test yet!

car hasnt gone back in yet...gonna make sure that the magnaflow is a 3 way cat first before i would put one on it.

just looked on the site....53004 is the correct cat for that car..5 year warranty...which you do not get with the regular cheap ones

How do you know how I diagnose cars? Do you even know me? I can tell your a clown just by the way you post on here. "the sensor looks fine and there are no codes"

I guess you didnt realize that you have an obd1 system and not an obdII. I guess you didnt know that obd1 systems would only throw a MIL after a failure has occured and has no way of monitoring the deterioration of components such as an oxygen sensor, so just because you have no MIL doesnt mean your o2 sensor is fine. And your saying im the type of guy that replaces stuff for fun? Well then I guess your the type of mechanic that see's a DTC and just replaces the sensor. I guess when you see a knock sensor code on a Nissan you change that too? Or an oil pressure circuit fault on a GM... or wait.. im sure you dont know about those because your a little brake and LOF bitch.

Why you even posting a thread on here? I thought you were a mechanic?
