messed up my motor pretty bad

hey so i have a gsr and last night accelerating on the highway i was in third at about 7,500 rpm.. and i just installed a shirt shifter and instead of going into 4th i went into second.. i do have a rev limiter and i guess it didnt work.. i went to exit off the highway and my car just shut off and my battery light and oil light went on.. i checked for any leaks and nothing was leaking.. and my car wouldnt start unless i held the gas too.. and i couldnt let the rpms drop lower than 2000 or the car would turn off again..so i drove it home and started it up this morning.. i dont have to hold the gas anymore but it idles like a muscle car.. and the exaust smells like gas is coming out of it.. im pretty sure my valvetrain is gone.. but if anyone else has any imput to how messed my motor is let me know.. im getting it checked tomorrow too see what the damage is

You might have broken an exhaust valve or there is a crack on one of them. Do a compression test.

wow english class owned you

You most likely sent your pistons into your valves and did some serious damage that either a rebuild or replacement are your only options.

Same thing happened to my b16a. I took the head apart and found one of the exhaust valves was broken and the piston in that cylinder was a lot more loose compared to the other three. So now im getting the whole block freshly rebuilt but mortgage is killing me at the moment which is more important.

If you want the block or head rebuilt or anything done to it, take it to GORD BUSH.
He is really busy at the moment but you will be satisfied with his work in the end.

Wow, that was a lot worse than mine. lol If you have enough money, get ITB's you wont be disappointed and it'll sound really nice. Or you can change them to twin carbs, i knew someone had that done to a H22 and it sounded really nice aswell.
