Unhappy Need help ASAP

hey everyone i recently got myself a 97si (d16y8) and it was driving like a dream for a while, but after about 4 months my engine died due to running it low on oil. Now when i start my car i hear a LOUD rattling sound coming from the bottom end, i figured its probably bearings. My question is do you think its best to just do a swap or could i just change the bottom end? Thanks in advance for your replies.

just replace the whole engine. If chunks of main/rod bearings went through your oil then its been through the head and all over the engine.

For how little you can find a replacement bolt-in engine for its totally worth it.

I guess you COULD rebuild it, but that'd be very costly when compared to purchased a 200-400$ d16y8 longblock.

$400 bones from most suppliers complete from valve cover to oil pan with dizzy alternator and injectors etc and most will give warranty

it's easy to change a motor if you have time to learn
