question: 99-00 EK intake install

Hey guys,

thought i'd be easy to find but guess not..

is there a diy somewhere on how to install a SIR intake in a 99 EK (SiR)?

i can't find one on the internet and the one i found on TCC the pics were no longer working.

i just need to know where the tubes go!?

All you do is remove the stock intake, all the piping from throttle body including airbox, disconnect all hoses. Then install the intake with the silicone coupler. I do not remember if you have a sensor on the stock pipe, if you do, then the new intake pipe will have a place for the sensor. Then just route the vacuum hose from the valve cover into the intake pipe. Install the filter and you are done.

You are basically replacing the stock rubber tube with the metal one and instead of the airbox you have the cone filter. Really that easy.

If you need pictures, click here. It's a pdf from K&N intakes. Just follow the instructions.

My 96' Did have the IAS (Intake Air Sensor) in the tubing, so the 99 might as well.

I believe you're thinkng of a different hose, most likely the one that helps with a cold vehicles idle. From the TB, Thorrtle Body, to the air box, there is only the IAS that I can recall. It's a wired sensor, not a hose.

Good Luck! That a Picture, and circle your questions.. might helps us get an understanding.

Rad? What??
You do NOT touch the rad. As I stated before, you are just removing the stock box+rubber pipe with a metal pipe+cone filter. Your coolant system has nothing to do with intake.
