Questions about swapping a D16y8 to my 93 civic DX

Just acouple questions, i was told to use my DX wire harness and get a P28 computer so i didnt have to use a obd1 to obd2 jumper, is this true??? or is there something else i should do. Also was told everything should bolt up nice and clip in nice, would just have to wire vtech up. Is there any other tips anyone can give me to make it easier and things i should do??

I would personally chip your OBD1 ecu for v-tec and get a basemap put on for a d16y8.

d16z6 (p28's) and d16y8's do infact have different basemaps, although a p28 would work, it would be running efficiently.
