Rad problems

I'm having some trouble with my radiator. It seems to lose coolant over a time period of two-four weeks and starts to overheat. I've looked around the engine bay and underneath and can't seem to find any leaks. I'm thinking its the rad cap, but I'm posting this up to see what else it could be. BTW the car is a 95 Honda civic CX with stock motor.

you should see some green liquid somewhere ... wipe everything down around the radiator so that is nice and clean and then take a look closely from where the leak is coming from ...

so after 2 - 4 weeks your car overheats and then you check the rad? you should check more often the condition of the car .... how is the oil? any excessive smoke coming out the tail pipe?

As its a 95, have you ever changed the head gasket?

the oil is fine, and I don't think the headgasket has ever been changed, but I don't see any white foaming in the oil so I don't think coolant is leaking into there. I'll try wiping down the rad and surrounding areas and check up on it a bit more often.

When mine was gone, I was loosing coolant. There was no trace of smoke, oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. The only sign I had was the car overheating and not drawing coolant out of the over flow resevior when it cooled.

How many km's on the car?

You could just have a bad rad, it is 13 years old.
The exact same thing happened to me when I was younger. Had to replace the rad and everything was fine.

could be a leaky water pump as well. you won't notice coolant loss in small amounts cuz it evaporates quickly from engine heat

Just pressure test the ****ing thing. If you dont have a pressure tester, pay a shop $100 to find the leak. Atleast that way you won't risk having a blown motor.

Mine draws from the overflow reservoir, I've replaced the rad about 1.5 years ago, the mileage on the car is 204XXX.

not since I've owned the car, which has been since 150ish clicks. Is there a way I can test it at home?
