the past 2 days ive been hearing this rattling at low rpms.. in 1st gear and 2nd usually but its usually in the lower end... just started all of a sudden..sounds like metal rattling.. anyone know what this could be?

Haha, on a serious note. I totally agree with this statement

 

yeah thats what it probably is my car does the same thing i just bent my heat shield a bit and tightened the bolts and it stopped

 

My manifold 'heat' shield also rattles... But yes, heat shield.

When the cars off, hopefully cold, put a cloth/rag/tshirt/puppy on your hand and bang your exhaust. you should hear where the rattle is coming from.

 

ive already taken off the heat shield which was rattling before.. is there another heat shield closer to the engine? the one i took off was towards the middle back end of the car

check your spring kit see if one side is loose or if its started to pull away and the spring is dangleing around....




FWD or NOTHING

 

if it sounds like marbles and when you push the clutch in it goes away it's your throwout bearings.
