vehicle is "sluggish"

hey, i have a 96 civic coupe, dx..lately i have been having trouble acelerating and getting going...it is sluggish so to speak...i used to be able to take 1'st gear to about 40...then second to about 80 if i was pushing it...now....my gas basically cuts out at 30, then again at 60...and i am being forced to change gears...i have trouble going up hills, and so on...its pissing me off and more importantly its pissing other drivers off, could it be a bad tank of gas??....fuel filter??..fuel pump??...any suggestions are welcome or if you have experianced it in the past..please let me know
Thanks for your help

what do you consider tune-up...spark plugs...or like 02 sensors and stuff...i just did plugs and wires around x-mas...itgs completely possible that it requires it again..but seriously what are the chances..not hard to pull a plug though..gues i can try that out

hmm

for me a tune up consists of

oem parts

plugs, wire, cap & rotor, fresh oil change, pcv valve, air filter,

When was the last time you changed out your fuel filter?

fuel filter was dona last june, so coming up on a year, oem plugs and wires were done around x-mas, oil change wouldn't cause this..pcv valve..possibly, has a short ram intake, that is about 4 months old, so theres nothing wrong with the filter

Could be, and probably is bad gas.
I'd get to a station asap and put in as much as possible. Maybe drop in a bottle of injector cleaner as well.

Pull a plug or 2, check them out.

Is there engine noise? Knock or ping?

When did you notice the problem? After a fill up? Was it sudden or did it come on slowly?
