First Gen Mitsubishi Eclipse vs. Happyb16

Ok here's the scoop:

He says his car has:

16g turbo
fuel injection, exahust, intake all done
inter cooler
criogenicly hardened transfer case

You know what the happyb16 has...

Who would win?

1/4 mile ...

Take it to Cayuga and find out... Then there's no debate. Safe and you have slips to rub in his face if you win.

Why don't we just devote an entire thread to your "HappyB16 vs. every other car in the world" questions so they'll all be together?

never take an Eclipse lightly
I saw one at Cayuga doing 12.7
with just a boost controller, down pipe
and upgraded intercooler. I wonder
what mods. the B16 has , anyways
I would love to see a Honda in front
of the power house Eclipse's

DSM man, you have no chance at all!

How much PSI is he pushing with the 16G? If he has a FMIC then that means hes pushing alot of boost so he needs to cool it down, plus he has fuel injectors, exaust, Turbos dont have intakes. You are going down my friend, HARDCORE! A stock TSi would still kill you.

My brother has an h22a in his accord and when he raced his friend in his TSi, (stock) He lost by 1 1/2 cars, of course this was on a track.
My bro has I/H/E. DSMs are bad *** man, drop as much as you would on your car, you have a super fast car.

Sorry, but you'll lose.

hahah, Yeah, you do want to race a lot of cars now don't you.
But the neon, i dont know. But the DSM, ask him how much is he boosting, then it'll be easy to tell you who will win.

ok, i think the guy is bullshitting about his car now:

1) he says it only cost him 3500 for all the extra's he has

2) the total including the car is $5000

And the guy is known to be a liar, WHY AM I SO GULLIBLE !

Unfortunatly bro he may not be lying.

1st gen DSM=$2000-$2500 in some cases

with the extra $2500-$3000 he could be doing anywhere from mid 13's to high 12's 1/4 mile times

the dsm will destroy you if you are all motor....
i have both a supercharged honda and turbo'd talon tsi... dsm's are much cheaper to be made fast. as long as everything is working properly on his car you dont stand a chance.

2 rice 4 u, He is not BSing you. It is true, you put in a little money into those cars and bam, you are running 12s or low 13s. You can buy 1st gen DSM CHEAP! I mean 500+ with the timing belt blown. Pay 500 to fix that, its running.

ASk him how much boost he is running. Then tell us and then we'll know. i THINK he is running alot since he has an upgraded intercooler, bigger injectors, exaust. Once again, you have no chance at all. Unless you drop 20 grand into your motor then you'll beat him no problem.

Here is TRUE DSM power
STOLEN FROM DSM.ORG

Smithoid of Team NABR put down 611whp recently, enjoy the vid.

1st pull: no spray/22psi = 473.5 whp
2nd pull: no spray/24psi = 500.6 whp
3rd pull: with 75shot/24psi = 585.1 whp
4th pull: with 75shot/26psi = 608.5 whp
5th pull: with 75shot/27-28psi = 611.9 whp

This car is the second highest HP producing car that dyno has seen. He's second only to a Viper with a 200 shot of spray. It made 618whp.

jacob usually when the timing belt breaks on a dsm you gotta replace the whole motor... so its not a $500 repair

Yeah it cost me $1200.00 after parts and labour. Valves, tensioner, both belts, head gasket kit, etc.....

They're fast but when it comes to repairs I'll take my hybrid Civic over my old Tsi.

For you, My bro bought a used head, 120 bucks and some other parts. we DID not have to replace the whole motor, the block is fine, Its running right now.

I agree when it comes to repairs, they do break more often then hondas.
