~~~~~ Looking for 96-00 EK hatch metal roof OR trade sunroof ~~~~~~
I race, and sun/moonroof is dead weight to me. So I am looking for an EK hatch owner that are either:
1) wants to part out his roof (wrecked the car but the roof is still in good shape) or;
2) wants to get a sunroof
I have an aftermarket sun/moonroof (don't let the word "aftermarket" scare you) and it operates like an OEM roof, goes inside the car and does a tilt. One-touch fully open. The glass are is bigger than stock Si/SiR, that I am certain because we used to own a Si as well.
The roof was installed by dealer (or a contracted out) since day one when it was brand new. No leak whatsoever, and no rust around the glass area.
Like I said, glass is dead weight to me and if I knew I was going to track the car, I wouldn't have asked for it when I bought the car. But in summer, I gotta say, it feels nice with the roof fully opened.
In a way, this is easier to "swap" roofs between two cars, IF, you happen to be looking for a sunroof yourself. The factory spot welds will be drilled out on both cars, swap and reweld. Cost wise, I do not know. But I am sure this is doable.
So whether you are selling your roof or looking to swap, let me know.
Thanks!
