what do you have to do to take over a lease??

 

have decent credit, and do a lease transfer...

 

FYI - 2k3sir, even if someone takes over your lease, you are still on the credit note as a co-borrower. So, if you plan on getting another car, it might affect your credit since you have a loan for the 2k3 civic. I was in same situation as you, wifey had a 2003 civic sedan, leased, after 5 months, she hated that it had no power, called honda canada finance and they said what i just told you....so i ended up trading it in and losing $2500, since i needed to apply for a new loan for her 03 accord. Good luck, and nice car....

 

not that it matters now.. i would be removed from the lease if the person taking it over had good enough credit to get rid of me as a co signer!
