The 1.6EL is identical to a EK Sedan as seen in the pictures.... so yes, this bar will also fit 97-00 1.6EL

i have this installed on my EK hatch.. definitely makes a difference... great finish and construction..

great deal too.. i paid more for mine..

what kind of difference will i notice? i already have a c pillar bar, floor bar, and rear itr trunk strut bar in the car.

It really depends... I can't say exactly what it will or won't do for your ride. Some people think all you need is a nice set of coilovers to stiffen up a ride. It's all up to the driver and what they feel is overkill.
