OT: FS: Parrot (senigal) & Cage
Well I have to get rid of my Parrot. His name is Kirby. He is very Healthy, about 8 years old. I am the second owner of his. The first owners where not to friendly with him so I bought it off them. His wings are Clipped so he can fly although he tries and just end up on the floor. But as for being mistreated in the past he is a biter. You do not wanna get bitin by him cause it will hurt. But you can hand feed him. He is just a lil scared of humans. My father has worked very hard to get him use to us and it is working. we bought him a nice big cage, and he eats only the best food. All in all he is a good bird Beautiful to look at and the cage is very nice aswell.
We are looking to get about $700 Obo. Thats with the cage aswell.
These particular parrots sell for over $950 alone. The cage was another $450. So I am asking for half of what I paid for him and half for the cage.

Could u please expand on his temperement?
He was mis-treated as a child, right?
and he still doesn't trust humans that much?
How many times has he bitten you?
can he be taken outta the cage without snapping?
can he be put on ur shoulder without him biting ur ear?
can he talk? He probably won't be able to learn any more words, cause he's 8.
These might help ur sale...
cheers

He was teased and pooked at by the previouse owner.

He has been in my dads care and he is very different from when he first came home. He is getting more use to us and people that he trusts.
How many times has he bitten you?
He has never bitten Me but my dad yes. He is an animal and he is scared, we never get mad at him or yell or anything like that. But when he gets really snappy we spray him with Mist (spray bottle) that usually calms him down and then we give him a treat, to reward him for calming down. That has not happen in a long time. You can Hand feed him no problem without problem.
can he be taken outta the cage without snapping?
The cage is always open. he walks all around the cage. But we dont go near him cause he gets scared. If you leave him alone and let him do his thing he is fine.
can he be put on ur shoulder without him biting ur ear?
No. He wont go anyways. We have tried.
can he talk? He probably won't be able to learn any more words, cause he's 8. No talking. He sings sometimes.
Hope this helps.

for starters dude u shouldent be giveing the parrot a treat 4 calming down in doing this u are rewarding him 4 something he has just done with was friek out then stop he thinks he is getting a treat 4 being bad u should just spray him and then dont even talk 2 him or aknowlage that he is around even put him in a different room in the dark.
only give him treats when he is interacting with u and being good as soon as he starts 2 get bad do as above
we all make mistakes with animals that we dont realise .
my gf is a vet and i have lurned soo much from her about animal behavour exept how 2 spell it
just a tip 4 whoever buys him or if u keep him

Funny how we have been doing that for the past 3 years with him, to correct what the previouse owners have have done. And it is working very good. When he use to get really snappy we would just mist him and he would calm right down. We would talk nice to him and commend him. Then he would come out for a treat. he is very use to the way we have taught him, and its working.
As for the Dark room we use to put a dark blanket over the cage at the begging so he wouldn't sing in the early morning. But we stopped doing that, and just let him be himself in that regards.
I thank you for your advice, but Kirby is doing fine and my father has had birds ( way to manny to even count) & Doggs. And he has trained them all the same way. And they all turned out as great Pets.
