there is NO blue honda valve cover for b-series motors the is one for the h22's but im sure tenzo makes the valve cover in blue and like the one in your pic it say's type r on it if u really want a blue honda valve cover, strip one yourself and use blue krinkle paint (not exactly sure if thats the real name or not) and do it yourself.

1 can aircraft paint remover + 1 can black wrinkle paint + 1 can flat blue paint (shade of your choice) + couple hours of your time = Blue Valve Cover that looks stock

and to get the lettering to be not painted u block sand off the paint

Total Cost $15

thanks alot cynikal.... hey where would i buy "aircraft paint remover" and "black wrinkle paint".... would canadian tire have them and are those the correct names ??

and another thing... are you sure i can use them on the valve cover... cause since im painting the valve cover, doesnt it have to be HIGH HEAT PAINT ?? and if so does only the first layer have to be high heat paint or all the layers have to be high heat paint??? and is the wrinkle paint high heat??

and 1 more thing, my valve cover is stock right now, do i still need a can of aircraft paint remover?? and if so what for ??

thanks alot for your help...

valve cover will never get hot enough to need high heat paint.

you need the stripper to remove the factory paint first.

i did my cover a few months back...

1. remove old paint (i used lepage super gel stripper)
2. rinse
3. repeat with stripper if all the paint didn't come off

looks like this....

4. rinse, if necessary
5. wash with tsp
6. paint away

i suggest using one of those spray can adapters, makes using the can much easier.

NAPA has wrinkle paint and the hardcore paint remover...its the same wrinkle paint as OEM so it stands up to heat...I painted my valve cover with normal paint and its fine...it just smelled like paint for a few days as it "baked"

Few Questions:

1.) What is "TSP" in step 5.

2.) What grit sandpaper should I us to block sand the paint away from the valve cover.

Thank You Guys --> Sorry for being a noob ^_^

tsp is trisodium phosphate, its found in the paint department. it cleans and degreases surfaces. i would suggest handling the cover with latex gloves after the tsp if you really want to do a nice job.

i would try a 320 grit to sand down the letters afterwards, then maybe a 400 and 600 so you dont see scratches in the metal.

thanks... few questions... first is, is the brand name actually called "Wrinkle Paint" and is that the same paint as the black oem paint on the b series valve covers ?? and can i paint with black wrinkle paint and then paint over top of that with my paint of choice and it will still be wrinkly even though my paint of choice on top of that inst wrinkle paint ?? and last but not least what is the hardcore paint remover brand name ?? thanks... please try to answer all the questions...

wrinkle paint is not the brand name, but rather the type. it will look the same as the stock valve cover, then you recoat in your choice of colours and it will have the wrinkle look.

not sure of name, but if you ask for aircraft stripper napa will know what it is.

ok thanks.... and if it will look the same as the stock one after like before i spray my paint of choice on it.... why does it not work just spraying my paint of choice now ?? like if all the wrinkle paint is going todo is make it look stock....

and do i let the wrinkle paint dry before i put my paint of choice on ?? and how many wrinkle paint coats do i put on before my paint ?? thanks...
