1990 integra/ with b16a chip sais mugen but it doesnt add up

Hi guys, I'm familiar with the Pw0 mugen program, I believe its 4400RPM VTEC with no rev limiter. I bought an integra a month or so ago, and pulled the ECU to check things out and the chip sais mugen on it. However, VTEC still kicks in at 5100 +/- and the rev limiter is still set at 8200 RPM as I found out at the last solo. Any thoughts? Are there slight variations?

why would u want vtec to kick in around 4400 to being with. you lose power even a b16 vtec kickin @ 5100 is low as it is.

agreed.
Most generic "mugen/spoon/jun/vision" programs are crap, and usually do more harm than good.
I'd put just a stock b16 program on a chip and run that.

Yeah I feel the same way. I'm just trying to figure out what is my ECU. If its just a sticker, I'll peel it off!

I wont be checking back here for a couple hours, but are the p28's a straight plug in for the OBD0 setup, or do you have to convert them. I'm a bit less familiar with this stuff, (Ive had a vigor for a couple years) enough said.

you would need to convert to obd1, an obd0-obd1 ecu conversion harness, chipped p28, obd1 b-series vtec distributor and 4 wire o2 sensor are all you need to convert an obd0 car to obd1.
Or you could tune ur car with BRE (obd-0 rom editing program, like crome for obd-1 but no where near as good) and use ur current chipped PW0. But honestly, IMO a stock b16 program will suffice for a car with bolt-ons.
You could get someone to read whats on ur current chip and go from there (pm me for more info).
