The "Anti" short shifter.
Check this bad-boy out.

Apparently it puts the shifter very close to the driver just like a rally car or an EP3 Civic for quicker shifts. Lifetime warranty, OEM bushings, etc. Sounds pretty good. It's gotten some good reviews on "cough" honda-tech "cough"it does look kinda ghey. Any thoughts?

IIRC, the shifter position in Del Sol is already low enough, with its own seat. When I was driving one, it felt nice.
Tall shifter like these, if anything, should really be modified "towards" the driver, not just "taller" imo. If the shifter still remains in the same position as it was before vertically, then it defeats the purpose. Unless, the double bend is bending towards the driver (which I don't think this one is).
Having said that, aren't these high positioned shifter tiptronic? Like what they use in rally?

the reason for the taller shifter is so that the hand doesn't have to move as far from the steering wheel to touch the shifter.
with that said, if you just increase the height of the shifter you'll have longer throws to put it in gear. this is bad. so what they did for this design was also increase the distance to the connecting rods under the car from the pivot point. that way the throw is shorter or stock while the shifter is longer. making for a quicker shifts because you have less distance to move with the right hand.
remember the time it takes to shift starts the moment you take your hand off the steering wheel and ends when it's back on the wheel.
