DO NOT USE THESE PULLEYS, SAY GOODBYE MOTOR!!!

Trust me on this one... if you want a lighter crank pully go with an oem civic type-r, lightest oem crank pulley and harmonically balanced.

I cant tell you how many motors ive seen bite the dust due to these pulleys

Yes, they are blanced, but not as well as oem. And personally, i wouldtn put a non oem crank pulley on my gsr ever... way too much money into the motor

thats true too... i doubt you'd gain all that much power from them and it could be a lot of money down the tube if the engine blows

yikes........

but im not talking about the CRANK PULLY.... the power pulles run the alternator and power steering instead of running the CRANK.

did u think i was talkin about the Unorthodox?????

b/c the Stock pully will remain the same on the AEM.... Unorthodox would be changing the Crank pully......... not AEM..
its just the power pulles on the top of the motor would be changed.

i think you got a bit confused..... not talkin bout CRANK!

listen to 1sloweg...he is tellling u the right thing...an oem crank pulley is a harmonic balancer and also absorbs shock created by ur motor(sonic pulses) via the rubber bushing in the middle on the pulley. Any ligher after market pulley does not have the rubber bushing....so ur motor is exposed to a lot more vibration, stres...etc etc....don't do it

Ps..I read this article a while back on these pulleys...I will try and post it for u later...peace

with AEM the crank pully stays stock. AEM did their homework. they just use a larger pully on the power steering and alternator.
it should be alright to run the AEM underdrive unit.

I've am currently only using the alternator aem pully but i have used both and they r good no extra power gains that you can feel but it's up to you they have done no harm to my motor and it is a b16 so its up to you.

i know he is right about the CRANK PULLY....... but AEM does not change the CRANK PULLY.... just the pulles that drive the accessories...

i have read up on it too.....

where did i say i was talkin bout the CRANK?

man oh man this is out of control...

p.s i was never gonna change my STOCK PULLY due to the harmonic balancing by the stock CRANK, i know of that already...

lol

hey smart guy.. AEM DOESNT MAKE CRANK PULLIES they are smarter than to **** around with engine harmonics unlike OBX. You finish your papers yet?

The true powerpully kit is just accesory pullys, you will experiance a loss of current in your alternator, so if your running a huge stereo (which your not,.. im just saying for others consideration) this product isnt for you.

Otherwise its safe to use, it frees up some parasitic drag and reduces rotateing weight on the accesorys. Ive never used them, but i bet the power isnt noticable. Get a lightweight flywheel much better results

Some people dont know the difference between crank pullies and accessory pullies yet i guess.

accessory pullies? its impossible to ruin the motor, unless an idiot installs one and it flys off and puts a hole in something...lol as an never would happen case scenerio...

as for crank pullies they will pooch your main bearing over time.... somone on here had it happen..i forget who tho

thanks very very much...

hehe i knew i was right...

im not expecting power gains from HP.... im expecting to free up HP from the heavy rotating mass of the stock ones.

it does have a 20% underdrive
