b16a boosted in a eg hatch

Was wondering what kind of clutch should a boosted b16 use? What do you guys recommend, it's for my friend, he needs to replace the clutch, it's already been turboed with the Greedy kit. Anyways he was considering something that was stage 2, but what brand do you guys recommend? Exedy? Act? Let me know.

dpends on how much power he is making...stay away from homo puck disc's...I'd say for his setup a race organic exedy is fine but depends on hp and abuse....if he wants a mans clutch then a act 2600 lbs pp and street disc aka extreme plate with street disc or hd plate with street disc is fine easier on your left leg..lol.

ok, so a organic clutch is good, with a hd pp?

how is the Exedy Stage 2 Thick Cerametallic Clutch?
or is the ACT HDR6 Performance Street Clutch one better? the ACT one is a 6puck race disk, but my friend should stay away from ouck discs right? so Exedy it is?

pucks are ceramic and dig into your flywheel....the exedy ceramitallic is a puck disc with a light pressure plate...get a heavier pressure plate with a organic street disc aka act HD PP with a street disc or a xtreme PP with street disc if he is making big hp and likes to abuse his ****. Don't think "stages" think how heavy is the pressure plate "clamp load" and what kind of disc be it puck or organic.

I'd do the HDSS ACT kit or the equivallent Exedy. cuz above that torque level you put your axles in jeopardy. also will he be using slicks at all??

DEFINETLY NOT STAGE 1... thats for like 10-15 percent over stock... turbo, plus happy driving will = slipping stage 1... stage 2 plus for sure...

STFU with the "stage" lingo...I mean you have to knwo what yoru PP is and disc material not what "stage" it is...I mean I coudl take a stage 2 dump in a box and it woudl mean nothing....select a pressure plate for your power needs and get a organic disc to go with it. ACT is getting a bad rep in the DSM community but I doubt any honda can break a xtreme pressure plate...

LMAO... stage 2 dump in a box. sounds pretty serious

the HDSS is good for 223 lb-ft of torque. I honestly think beyond that traction is a real concern so you shouldn't be getting clutch slip anymore... but rather tire smoke. that's why I asked about using slicks?

its true though, unless your pushing like around 320-350whp your not gonna make over 200ftlb's of torque with a B16.

BTW a clutchmasters stage 1 and 2 are both rated for 70% over stock rating, the only difference between them is the stage 2 has a kevlar based clutch material i believe?

I say Centerforce. My stock clutch Died and I got one for my stock d motor. Nice quick take-up. Very precise. I love it. Id buy another one in a second.

Anyone else on here use a Bully clutch? I have a stage 1 on my d16z6 and was told its good for 250whp. Holds up pretty well and isnt to harsh for daily driver.

I think 130 is too optimistic.

Just for you Torrey

I found something even better... JDM d15bupgrades are fmu 12:1 and a walbro 255lph HP intank fuel pump....the air/fuel was running lean on 10 psi

*DRUMROLL*

202 WHP and 170 TQ

its ok tho even for a d series you were wrong by 2hp..this only took me a minute to find there are easily 100 more.
