B18C or 1.8LS

ok ls is great for on a budget and dialy drivin around town...and also a good platform for a turbo setup
gsr get it if you have the money cause it has soem torque plus has some good top end and is a better setup for all motor power and will be quicker stock for stock if they are straight stock drop in's.
basically it comes down to how much money you got and what yoru goals are:
if you goals are all motor then gsr if they are boost them ls with a lsd gsr tranny

I figured that the LS turbo would make more power unless I did alot of internal work on the GSR. Most i would do on the GSR is valve job, PnP and maybe some cams etc.
Which do you think would be cheaper?

Chris, I'd say build a crazy all motor GSR. I don't know what it is with turbo's. I mean, obviously they're cool and fun and ****, but a build N/A motor with stage 2 cams or something sounds so much crazier to me. Imagine listening to those cams on a drag strip running open headers...now that's fun.

See im torn, a built up all motor engine sounds so sweet but then the BOV on a turbo sounds sick too.
Im more concerned with bang for buck, the GSR will prolly be like $3000 and the LS will prolly be around $1500 so that gives me $1500 extra to spend on the LS. Its gonna be alot of research and talking to people who know about building reliable daily driven engines.

ls turbo with a greddy kit (greedy kti is kinda weak) shoudl put down 220-230 whp
to get that all motor on a gsr woudl take full internals big cams maybe sleeved etc....and alot of $$$
ls turbo is cheaper will make more power and is reliable with good tuning etc...plus sky is the limit...turn teh bosot up tune alot..throw soem internals in slap a 20g on the kit crank more boost make 300 whp...

GSR all motor would be nice but as I thought it would prolly take alot of $$$ to get it around like 200-220 hp at the wheels all motor.
With the greddy kit what other mods would you recommend doing at the shop time. I was thinking of getting an APex'i WS II exhaust and maybe a hondata unit or something to play around with the tuning.

All motor builds are sick but they are expensive as hell to get up to the high numbers with. Turbo will get you there much faster but in order for it to be reliable it will have to be tuned right. A hondata would be perfect with a turbo to get it working safely and running nice boost.

greedy kit is fine but dosnet' have the potenital of a garret hybrid (t3/t4) setup...but is a good all round kit for daily driveing and will put you in soem good numbers...if you get it with the e manage then your set cause it's allow's for good tuning, the size of the greedy turbo is smaller than some other kit's out there but no worries the 18g will ahve good spool and get you past 200 whp...you shodul be able to run 7 psi no problem and you could tune for 8-9 easy wtih the e manage...even 10 woudln't be out of reach with a good tuen and some race gas at the track....

So do you think the greddy turbo will have a low lag and will spool up quicker than larger turbo's able of putting out 10+ psi? The car will be daily driven so I dont need like 400whp, somewhere around 200-250 is what im looking at. Hopefully I can get my hands on a B18B and the greddy kit soon and go to town. Do you think a Apex'i WS would be too restrictive for a turbo setup?

well the 18g can put out 20-25 psi of boost but your motor can't handle that...the bigger turbo's will push more air in your motor at a given psi causeing more power at 7 psi than a 18g at 7 psi...the 18g of the greedy kit though is smaller and will sacrifice power and top end but will spool quicker and have a better feel around town. You should be able to run 7-10 psi with a good tune from the e manage and that shoudl put you up around 200-220 whp easy....the WS woudl be abit resitrictive but will be more quiet and stealthy...a custom 2.5- 3inch exhasut woudl be reccomended but I'd jsut go with the WS personally, btu if you want all out power a 3 inch wihtout a cat is what you want.

Sounds like this is exactly what im looking for as far as engines go. Would I be risking reliability running 7-10psi on stock internals? Hopefully I can find a B18b somewhere cheap and start working on getting everything together. I definitely want a stealthy quiet exhaust soI was thinking either get a Mugen twin loop replica and have custom piping made for it or get a WS that will just bolt up.
