best springs without dramatic drop

it is your lower ball joints most likely. They are pressed into your steering knuckle. If you look at the bottom of the lower control arm immediately behind your brake rotor, you'll see a castle nut there - that's the ball joint. I had mine pressed out and pressed a new one back in. However I'm not sure if anyone sells them separately, I had an extra set from my original suspension.

No, the lower control arms are not assembled with the lower ball joints - they bolt together (via the castle nut). The lower ball joint is pressed into the steering knuckle itself. I think they are replacable by themselves, BUT you have to have a machine shop press them in else you risk damaging them or putting them in crooked. If you are really careful and patient you could do it, but it's better to just remove the steering knuckle and take it to a machine shop like Carquest to have them press it in. You can just hammer out the old ones with a hammer since they are gone anyways. But before you do any of this, visually inspect where the play in your wheel is. Sometimes a tie rod end can make a similar noise. Jack the car up and shake the wheel around to see if there is play, then visually check to see where the play is at.

About $71 from Parkway I'm guessing.
But who cares, it's only $140 for a tight *** ride - that's worth it.
I gotta do both new OEM upper control arms cuz I sold my old ones to someone for dirt cheap and now I need them. DOH!!!

I only put on OEM parts where there is no more performance to be had, I will not buy from some auto corner store. Even where OEM parts are unavailable I'll search out Moog chassis components (for other cars, all Civic parts are still available at the dealer).
PULOVR is correct, ALL 88-00 springs are interchangable. Not so much for shocks.
