Could be Speed sensor...

or Cap/distributor..

90EFHB had that problem in his EF...

But your speedo info is sent throughthe harness by the ECU...

Hmmmmm...

ya, definitely sounds like cross talk..
something is leaking impulses..
bad wires..cap/rotor..something along those lines..
or moisture......

did you reset the ecu by pulling the fuse?? (re: intake)
speed sensor..that's electronic right?? did they pull the actual speedo housing?? (where the plastic wheel goes up against the output gear (on the diff..))
maybe the gear is scrap..worn out and begins to miss at high rev..
try adding some di-electric grease to the plug where the wires connect to the housing..

we'll keep at it

haven't had time to get to my mech

but i am guessing maybe a bad connection

New Discovery: if car is in neutral, and giving high revs above 5500 rpm, the speedometer starts jumping around, as if it's gay...lol
dam its pissing me off!
