Can a Sir keep up with a rsx type-S
#21
ok its pretty obvious that the rsx would smoke it , it has 40 more hp and its only like 280 pounds more . And who ever said that a stock rsx type s would run a 14.8 and an sir could run 15.8 is stupid . In the book a rsx runs about 15.2 to a 15.4 , at the track if your lucky 15.6 . LOL and sirs are 1 of the slowest hondas for the money ive every seen , if your lucky you'll run like a 16.3 but in the book sirs are about 16.1 . My advice is to buy a del sol vtec same as the sir motor , but i think i'll smoke both of them like a joke . do the hp / to weight ratio.

no... even boosted B16A only hits high 13s/low 14. So... I/H/E may get you like a 1/10 in the quarter?? and they feel HELLA slow cuz it's only a 1.6L. Go test drive a normal Civic... any little Civic. The SiR will feel the same up to about 4000 rpm, then the fun begins. However, consider that you'll drive this thing every day, so do you really wanna rev it out past 4000 rpm to have some fun??
2L >>>> 1.6L in every respect, technology, size, powerband, # gears.... OMFG, I get silly just thinking about it.

I own an Sir and I would much rather my car than a type S everyone always talks about quarter mile times, these cars are all slow in comparason to real quarter cars. They out handle most of them though. I have put some real miles on a type s and the only thing I like better than my car is the interior. McPherson Strutts. They Suck. On a real race track I would rather be in my car anyday. And with a few good mods, my car keeps up with a type s straight line and kills it in the corners. The stock brakes are better, my car has a few upgrades on brakes to make it comparable to type s

They are both slow, SIR a little slower than the other.. I don't think the difference is detrimental to your decision.. Most of the time you won't even notice the difference. Unless ofcourse your redlining them..
Like others have said, buy a dx civic and swap a B18C5 or an H22 into it.
You will attract much LESS attention first of all.
Your insurance will be a lot less because insurance doesn't have to know about the motor.
The ending cost result will be less than or same as an SIR.
The performance will easily take out any SIR or Type-S.
All the other crap on an SIR is just asking for theft and ridiculous insurance rates.. Besides, it seems like performance is your main concern..

I have an b16A swap in my car and frankly I don't think you know what your talking about man. From my stock civic to what is in there now, there is a huge difference. Even below 4000 RPMS. You feel more pull, and a lot more pep, I especially feel the difference in power when going up hill, that little extra Torque goes a long way.
