what you are feeling is higher gearing

thats why b16's seem so much faster then d16's they only have 30 hp on top and degliable torque difference bu its the gearing that makes them roar...

i got a 2000 SIR,
ran at the track with a best of 15.4 @ 89MPH.
my 60ft sucked. 2.4/2.5 no grip.

car has I/H/E pullies. ran it with no P/S

swap it, it will be much better, in a way i'm not really sure that the swap, the engine and all the mods would be cheaper but really it would be closer to the type-s if not better.
