Coilovers

Does NE1 have an idea of the quality of Coilovers that are sold by Tom's Motorsport? I saw a new pair for a decent price but I am not aware of the quality. Any thoughts would be fine.

Thanks

you get what you pay for basically when if comes to suspension stuff...all those cheap brands liek toms ractive R1...you need to find names liek h&r or eibach or tein...generally speakign the better quality stuff cost more so go from there if your coil overs are 100 bux then guess what they will be horrible...most good quality springs will cost about 300 bux and good shocks 700 ish so figure 1000 bux for a sweet littel setup

I'll bet 20 bucks you didn't properly corner wiegh your car did you?

because that would have solved that "bouncing" issue....also non stock shocks would help also but you didn't mention those in your post so I have no way of telling either way....

ok now to answer the dude's question..... only get coilovers if your prepared to do the work period.

every time you want to raise or lower the car you must corner wiegh the car. this is because wieght will be shifted around and cause bad handling and bouncey responseif the wieght is outta wack.... weight on a corner is affected by that corner's hieght. now I know your saying well I just measure and make them all even right? wrong. go measure the car with stock springs on and you'll see very slight differences in hieght (not something readily noticeable...)

this is why springs are better:

1) no need for expensive corner wieghting sessions

2) no need to worry about the hieght of each corner

3) no temptation to mess up the corner wieghing by wanting to impress friends with a super slammed look....

Just because he doesn't answer with a yes or no does not mean he's not answering his question. He is giving him some additional information to help with his decision... before you jump all over someone for a post why don't you think about what your posting before you post it ... because it makes you look rather stupid...

Oh by the way this is posting without answering his question

man eg93hb got owned like a little school girl...

as a 4th reason springs are better... they are cheaper... excluding the cheapass low quality coilovers of course
