I was in this debate with this guy about decarbonizing an engine.. he was saying you must be driving it out on high speeds to be able to blow all the stuff outta of the engine through the exhaust pipe and because ur putting a load on the engine making it so you get more of that carbon out.. i was argueing it really makes no difference, if anything it might make it a little better, if that...

I use stuff from GM andwhile the car is running, I put it in via engine vacuum. This is done revving the engine to about 2500rpm. When the bottle is about 3/4 empty, I let off the throttle and let the engine choke itself till it stalls. Let it sit for 15-20 mins. then drive the crap out of it. Instead of using chemicals, water will work as well.

yeah, GM top engine cleaner works well, but so does Sea Foam. I suck it in throught he vacuum line too, let it sit then start her up.... great work. I dump the rest in the oil and change the oil 200 miles later. I put a bottle in the tank too, help get at those injectors and remove the varnish.

that doesnt answer my question.. im talking about decorbanizing an engine using NO additives ... just the heat of the engine itself.. i was wondering if this can be achieved regardless of whether the engine is driving out on the highway at 100km/h putting a load on the engine..

the product "sea foam". I've seen it, but I haven't used it yet. Decarbonizing your engine without additives is probably impossible. All of the crap in our gas still builds up in the engine. I thank god I don't have an EGR valve though. If you keep your revs high, you build heat which will help keep deposits from forming, but it's going to happen anyways.

i know that using additives would be better.. but the point im making is it makes no difference whether the engine has a load on it or not... ur going burn off just as much carbon as you would if you put a load on the engine by driving it using this technique compared to if you just reved it in neutral.. just anyone disagree with me...

I also disagree, you must be driving it. revving the **** out of it is like this.... ride your bike as fast as you can, and then imagine the chain snaps... sux0r that's what it's like for your engine. it likes to have a certain amount of load

what does load have to do with with the engine ablility to create heat.. if you turn your car on.. she'll warm up regardless of whether ur driving it or not....
i KNOW you wont have the same load in neutral as apposed to if you were in gear....

a friend and i did this the other day..
We took off the intake and just misted water into the Intake Manifold..... Alot of water until the engine just gave up (stalled, i mean).. Then we reattached the intake piping i drove it around town for about 25min,, at frist i was easy on it, then just gave it **** the rest of the way.
The next day i took of mmy exhaust headers and noticed that my exhaust valves we a heck of alot cleaner, now they wherent all shinney and ****, but it got most of the crud out...
Its like a steam bath for the engine.....

if you tie ur shoulders to a rope and lift yourself off the ground and start running... maybe ur not going anywhere.. but ur still getting hot and ur still breaking a sweat... if you guys are so confident that reving in neutral wont do anything then go outside turn on your honda... and sit there reving it at 6000 or 7000 rpm.... is load is so important then it shouldnt do any harm to your engine.. .and ur engine should stay at the same temp....

the physics discription of work states energy expended to move an object. so if your not moving an object your not doing any work. same as if you hang off the ground and run your not doing any work... just getting hot and wearing yourself out early.... reducing your life span for nothing...
but that was really funny. I enjoyed that.

the way i look at it is when i had my saturn it had a overheating problem, and it never overheated from neutral reving or from idling, only when it had to lug around its own weight, especialy in city driving, 10 minutes of that and its about to blow

Since it's so hard to find Marvel Mystery Oil and Sea Foam up here in Canada, I was wondering if we could do the same thing using GM Top Engine Cleaner. i.e., besides sucking it through a vacuum tube, can we pour an oz. of the Top Engine Cleaner into each cylinder through the spark plug holes and let it sit for a night, and then crank it afterwards? How about pouring some in the engine oil and run it for 500 km or something? Would that kill my engine??
