It's an old process with much newer techniques developed to acheive better results. a quality regrind will be just as durable as a regular cam... and they cost a fraction of what new cams cost. bottom line, regrinds are a good bang for the buck for more power. Crower, Web, and others are producing some nice numbers from their regrinds.. with very little cam failures.. Leitner Performance is carrying a new line called Colt Cams, which have regrind apps for both VTEC and non-VTEC heads... they're using a set in one of their customer's frankie setups... i'll be looking into this as well, a N/A set for non-VTEC PR4 heads is only about $300 CDN..

yep... or the F20 I was at buddah's shop today and they were changing a timing belt on an accord so I looked up the engine when I got home on hondaswap.com... the spec are interesting, I just haven't heard much about this engine...

That's cuz the engine is junk compared to other honda engines, but basically it's still better than any other manufacturer's engine. Don't swap to an F series. Stick to D or B engines. Most parts are available, and all bolt in. Really, if you have $5.5K to spend on an engine, buy the ITR engine that cluster is selling.

Doesn't matter which motor you put in for autocross classing, a swap is a swap, you'll be in the mod class right off, so might as well go all out.

H22 weighs 200 lbs more than the stock motor (more than double) fast though

You don't necessarily need to swap for autocross, I do well with my D15, regularly beat 2 friends with swapped B18C's.

well this year I'll probably just leave the D15 alone (suspension first) however in the end I want a bigger badder ender....maybe not the biggest (H22) but something cheap and good...
