if u need qa new gas cap.l im parting out my 93 sedan glad to hear u figured out the problem... kinda funny really lol

 

um...I got the same experience
I drove my car on the highway for 20 mins then I stopped at the red light at the highway exit.....bling....the engine lights went on and I felt the gas couldn't pump to the engine smoothly. I stoped at the side...I saw the idle stoped at 1500rpm (normally under 1000 rpm). I stepped on the gas at neutral slowly and lightly....I saw the needle moving up and down between 1500 and 2000rpm....if you are having the same situation with me, It may be:

1. The problem of O2 sensor - try clean the sensors, or replace it if necessary
2. The problem of the air temperature sensor - try clean the sensors, or replace it if necessary
3. The problem of the sensor near the throttle ( i don't know what does it call) - try to clean it also
