Grinding Noise from Transmission/Clutch

hey guys I have a slight problem. in my 5 speed '96 SI Coupe after 1st gear revs up to about 3500 this insanely loud grinding noise starts from the tranny. From there on every gear makes the noise.

On top of that my clutch has < 10% grip (I can't drive it anymore).

My question is whether the grinding is from the clutch or the transmission? If it's the clutch (which I hope) I'll just get it replaced since I have to already, but if it's the transmission itself than I'm in a little trouble :/

I don't have any trouble shifting and the synchro's are fine which leads me to believe it has something to do with the clutch assembly. Bad bearings maybe?

Any insight?

It's the clutch rivets grinding the flywheel. You will need to have the flywheel replaced or resurfaced most likely.

When your clutch lining is almost done...... you shouldn't be accelerating fast.. or hitting the high rpms.
Your clutch lining is slipping and therefore causing damage. Keep your rpms a bit lower, and ease into the accelerator.. that means.. no jackrabbit starts.

ANd get your clutch replaced.
