h22 in 95 civic 4 dr
guys i know this has been brought up a lot but wouldnt it be better if i went with the h22a instead of the b18c1 of b16a2 for my 4 dr civic...
but ive heard a lot of bad things about the h22a :
1) understeer
2)like 170lbs more than b-series
3)custom install ie. mounts
i can get any of these three engines for about 2gz complete swap but i duno which to do. my last question is there a lot of problems with the h22a in the civic coz obvie thats best bang for buck! HELP GUYS!

170lb heavier?? my goodness.. then it will add up to ur power to weight ratio.... and mess up the weight distribution ??!!
i think honda make so many different series os engine for reasons.... better stick with the other two...

Where the hell you get these engines for $2000 complete swap? I'll buy 3 right now! heh..
First are they JDM? H22A will need custom mounts, accord intermediate(jack) shaft, integra drive shafts. It will however blow the doors of any of the other crap mentioned.. Integra suspension will make your ride stiffer and more responsive to combat the understeer. There's many things you can do to remove the weight from the front. Considering you drive a 4 door, your not gonna be doing hardcore track racing or anything so its not gonna matter AT ALL with the h22. remember H22 kills the others in torque and yes torque is important.
Don't forget that with all JDM engines anything can be fuked. Sensors, distributors, regular maintenance stuff.
IE - my latest h22 swap needs a new distributor cap, but JDM distributor has coil inside distributor and USDM has coil outside so the CAPS are different. So now it's a bitch trying to get a JDM cap.. There's a lot of little things that can happen and you really must expect to spend $500+ on extras after getting the motor installed.

well the h22a is not 170 lbs heavyer .... but it is heavier ... I'd recommend doing what cablerat suggested with the suspension, but then go a bit further, there is a metal bar in the front of your car that is your actual bumper (gotta take off the plastice bumper to see it) and you can get a lightwieght one (not sure from where bbarbulo told me about it) since it sticks out past the front wheels the wieght savings there greatly improves the front to rear distribution of wieght... go with a CF hood there's more weight savings in the front and aftermarket fenders are lightier too ... scrap AC and power steering and voila your back to about normal handling... have fun that will be one cool *** sleeper car

ahh i see guys, finally some people replied thanks i appreciate it
um ok, to correct a mistake i said its 70lbs heavier not 170lbs anyways, i want to do this mod but im having trouble finding:
1)mounts (i know hasport makes em but theyre almsot 900CDN)
2)i believe civic suspension is ok and can be used, but makes sense to upgrade to gsr suspension to rid of understeer, so that would be gsr in front and keep civic in back...
3)i read on honda-tech.com that axles were needed however the mounts should fix the problem of axles breaking
4) lastly, wiring harness?? that im not sure of...
ps. i heard u cant lower the civic with h22 more than 1.5inches coz the headers will scrape, correct me if im wrong thanks guy!!
