u really gotta ask yourself a few things.
What realistically is your total budget?
What do you want to do with the car? street? track? 1/4mile?
What are your power goals?
If your just looking for some more pep for the street, i'd get an intake, good header, better intake manifold (d16z6, d16y8 or any aftermarket) and a bigger throttle body (not too big, maybe a b16 or LS t/b).
Then when you're reading for some more power (cams, raised compression, port and polish) you will already have all of the bolt-on's and be ready to make some decent numbers.
And of course you could always get a vtec head and do a mini-me.

Its true, even with all of the bolt-on's you will see minimal gains, hell even heavily built n/a d-series' aren't that great....IMO

Not too bad.. but i'm sure they was a lot of money invested. But sometimes thats all people want out of a daily driver.

145whp out of a heavily built d-series?...thats it?
You can easily spend up to $10,000 building a N/A engine. And i would imagine to pull 145whp out of a d16 it would take a pretty heavily built engine.
If 150whp is all your after just swap in a b16 or b18c1 and get I/H/E.

i dont think it was heavily built.. d16a1 pistons, zex cam, p&p, and re-tuned, i forget what else was done
I told you about it awhile ago.. it was going for $1200 or 1000$ which isn't too bad

thats not heavily built?
High compression, big cam, and headwork....i'd say thats pretty built up man.
You also have to take into consideration the price of new bearings, new pistons and rings, new oil and water pump, timing belt, tensioner, gaskets and , hardware and all of the machine work and assembly.
For most people its cheaper/easier/more efficient to swap in a b-series.

honestly, learn from my mistakes... save your money for a engine swap.
if you still wanna do something maybe get a hi-flo cat since you've already got some exhaust work done.

hahaha so many funny comments, buy a new car, cant polish a turd, ahahah. nice though, im not lookin for anything special like 1/4 mile or street racing i just thought i would ask what i can do that is not too pricey to make my car alittle bit faster. So maybe i will go with a hiflo cat and new header, and an intake.
