I probably could have gottin' 800+ if I did only 95 - 100 km all the way there, and didn't try to race some of the other guy's in the car club that I went with! (we were going to the "WOODWARD DREAM CUISE" in Detroit....Nut's!!! ie... 35,000 + Cars (not counting the parked ones) 1.2 -1.5 million people over the weekend. I got picks to prove it (but not enough post to post it yet...stay tunned...) Crazy stuff, I'm going again this year and need some poeple to share accomodations with me I'll bring pics to the next meet for you to see! (it's held every year in the third weekend in august. There were only a hand full of imports ie. civic's, tegs....down there last year(it's "BIG 3" Country down there). It would be nut's if every one went!) They thought my car was WAAAAYYY cool, If they saw some of the cars up here.....

I got to Cochrane from Toronto (~800 km) on one tank of gas in a 2003 Civic Hybrid (1.3 iDSI with IMA) on a cold January day with Winter tires, trunk with another full set of wheels and tires, two people and a bunch of stuff in the back seat.
The rated capacity is 50 litres but you can realistically only put in 43-45 litres (ask any 7th Gen owner). The car was practically new. I am sure after being more broken in, with the stock tires, less stuff, warmer temperatures and city driving (it get's better fuel economy in the city) it would have gone further.
Great mileage.

P.S. Jugglez, I know this isn't the type of "Hybrid" you had in mind but it is still on-topic. I am talking about a Civic Hybrid, right?

What???
Are you guys sure your motors are running right? Maybe your super agressive drivers!
I've got:
92 cx, hatch,
B18B OBDI.
I get 510 kms to a tank, in the city. If I'm on the highway, I can squeeze out 540 kms. I drive at 120kms regularly.
This is good, I know. Maybe its cause I got the LS tranny. 3000 rpm at 120 km/h. I don't even want a GSR tranny, if I want high revs on the highway I simply bang it into 4th...
I always use low octane cheap esso gas. "87" or "89" I tried sunoco 97 and no effect, maybe only slightly better mileage.
As a note, before the swap, I was getting 580kms with the stock 1.5 sewing machine.
