honestly it doesn't make a huge difference to someone with a stock car, but like SiVeloz said if you add a system it helps with the dimming if you're running some powerful amps,

also it helps with the idle (atleast it did for me)

other than that it's all looks for me, those little dinky wires being replaced by nice 4 gauge wire that SiVeloz hooked me up with... engine bay looks much nicer

You man are weird. Where in my first post did I say I wanted to do it for horsepower. LOL. I said I wanted to upgrade my grounding and wanted to know if anyone made it and for how much.

Later on I said horsepower among other things I heard it gives, but I said IF IT gives you horsepower than it is a bonus. Most likely it does but its just something one would not notice.

Don't put words in my mouth.

and how will having better groudnign help your shifting?

if honda engineers, which were paid a lot of money to design the system, felt that all you need is one ground cable from the battery, on on your ps pump, on on the tranny, and a few little ones throught the harness, then thats good enough for me
they were also paid alot of money to use the cheapest materials that will suffice, and thinnest guage, and shortest distances.
while this is fine while the car is new many of our cars ar at least 5 years old... the contact points corrode and rust and wires deteriorate....

also most of us upgrade our sound systems, engines, IGN's etc.... thus putting mroe load on our factory grounds..

all said... upgraded grounds are great just don't waste your money on the kit.

grounding kit in theory will NOT give you horsepower UNLESS the factory wires are INDEED too small.

but you may lose horsepower if your groudns become corroded or loose or wires have oxidised!

also the ECU body IS a ground you can't get any better ...

the ECU body is not a ground, the components in the ECU on the PCB board don't touch the casing at all, if they did everything would short and there would be no more ECU

The ECU ground still goes to the factory ground spot, along with all other noisey devices in the car, thats why I mentioned to go straight to the battery

Can someone do a DIY article on how to make it (what materials, cables) outlining what they found are good contact points to use in the engine bay?

My current grounding cable is a bit rusted out. Maybe I should cut the tip out and use the other parts of it which isn't too bad, for temporary measure. The car still starts well though.

Oh ya does the mod require soldering of any kind if done by myself?

soldering is only a bonus, crimping them very tight is a must, soldering them is just going over the top if you care that extra bit

I solder all mine
