If you need cheap tires. They are your best buy.
As far as performance, don't expect much.
From most of the reviews and comments from honda-tech, most owners found them to be nosiy and treadwear sucked.
Hope this helps.

By the way the is a place called Green Bay tires that sell them real cheap.

Thanks twinbros, I appreciate your help.

I was calling around different places, and found a great deal on Yoko Avid H4's! They're selling it to me for $90 plus tax each, and mount+balancing is free!!! They even include a 2 year road-side assisstance and free life-time rotation! Remember that's for 205/45-16... I just can't miss such a great deal! So I made an appointment for Saturday and get my baby those new shoes!

I did a search for the Avid H4 and found nothing but good things about them. Most of all it's said to be really quiet, which is exactly what I'm looking for!

they're an alright tire.. they're h-rated so more or less comparable or in the same "class" as the 711's ... they're high performance all season tire as opposed to a summer tire.

Got the 711's about a month ago. They are quieter than the rubber on my steelies and better traction too. They do well on water... surprisingly. I'd say it's as good as cheap tires get.

I had Avid H4's on my car before I put the Kumho 712's on. They are good tires. Good wet/dry traction and great highway stability although they would really follow uneven ground at speed, but in a stable way. I found them to have just about the same noise level as my Kumho's, i.e. not enough to notice. They are a harder tire than the Kumho's as well so I'm guessing that their treadlife would be better. They are all season tires and they actually aren't that bad in the snow. I had them on last winter and they were fine except for the lack of acceleration traction, probably becauser they were 215's. Good tires and at that price they are a good buy.

Thanks for the vote of confidence kane! I figured the Avid H4's are better tires than the Kumho 711, so for the same price, I'd go with the Japanese goods instead of the Korean ones. Plus, I found out their treadwear rating higher than both the 711 and 712, though they're singled out as one of the most quiet tires. I can't ask for more at that price!

IMO you can't compare the two they're in different categories... the 711's are summer performance tires, and the Avid H4 is an all season.... whatever you're looking for i guess, but when a tire isn't as soft it doesn't grab as well... that's why race slicks are soft as hell and wear out real fast, cuz they grab like no tommorow... as long as you're happy in the end it's all that matters, but just make sure you use the tires what they're meant to be used for, like ed said the H4's are H rated, not Z rated... don't forget that!

whatever you do, don't get Toyo FZ4 loud, bad in water, and very unimpressive grip.... and they squeal too, so when you're cornering at the limit, everyone is looking. terrible tires!! I can't wait to replace them!

Sorry to hear that Bruno... Yeah this shop was trying to sell me a set of FZ4 for $450. I guess from what you said, they're not even $350!@$! If you want the name and number of the shop I'm getting my Avid H4's from, let me know! $415 everything included, can't go wrong!
