Level Ten Shiftronic?

Here's the link to the product: Click Me

Is this thing any good? Does it really give you complete control over the auto? So i could downshift/upshift whenever i want? Also would i be able to switch between auto and shiftronic mode anytime?

I have tried researching this thing without much luck. Maybe someone here has used it or knows more about it.

And finally, what about this thing: Click Me

It's a similair product. More expensive though, however i think it offers more options (dont know, got lost in the technical jumbo) And I'm not sure it would work with my tranny. I see they have a list of supported tranny's, but they also claim it works with any electronically controlled tranny. I dunno.

Opinions anyone? Thanks.

I haven't heard too much about that particular product yet, but I do know that Level Ten is a trusted name, they make probably the best auto shift kits, so I would imagine high quality from that prodcut as well.... as for whether or not it really works, try phoning the company and inquiring further into it.

the idea behind it is pretty basic. the ECU tells the auto when to shift, so all you have to do is tap in parallel to that control so you can tell it when to shift. just like a fuel controller piggybacks onto the ECU and tells the fuel injectors to spray more fuel, this thing can tell the tranny when to shift. it's really not a very novel idea. quite basic.... however the reason this product didn't exist before is cuz.... well no one who modifies cars would have an auto tranny.

Thanks for the responses. I have one other question though. How safe do you guys think this is to use? Would it put massive strain on an auto tranny?

I would think that if you decreased the shift times or increased the speed you would be putting lots of strain on the car. This product does not sound like it intended for road cars.
