Angry Lower Control Arm Problem

The other night we went to remove the Lower Control arm bolt (in my friends 92 civic hatch ) which holds the Shock assembly to the LCA, and the bolt was siezed in the bushing. We tried just about everything to get this bolt out, and yet nothing. I just dont understand how a bolt could seize up in a rubber bushing..?!? But i guess anything is possible.

Anyways the other sida has also given us problems, i was thinking of just going to the wrecking yard and finding some used Lower Control Arms. I remember someone on here telling me that integra control arms are the same? Could someone please clarify which models and or years would be compatible?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Hey Matt
Do you end up having to buy the whole Energy Bushing set or just those?

Thanks Jsk, Matt

The bolts seize because they have splines on them. The bushing they go through is rubber but the middle part the bolt actually goes through is metal. So as you could imaging the bolt rusts to the bushing. Remember to use losts of anti seize when re-installing

what kind of bushings do you want? OEM or aftermarket ones like i posted?

298 a side is a rip

i think Parkway had them for $45 for brand new EK lower control arms so I assume EG would be around the same.

Let me find the part number when I get home

but yeah any dealership should have them.

They range in price at dealerships but expect to pay around $12-15 for one, and about $9-10 for the bolt.

you guys are all getting mixed up... one persones talking about front LCA and anothers talking about rears... huge diff in price and work involved to change the bushing... fronts will need alignment ect...

I have 2 used EK front lower controll arms, bushings are not cracked...i dont know if they are compatable with the 92-95

if its rears, get a tcc membership and parkway can hook you up for about 60$ a side brand new RLCA
