Lugnuts

ok.. My civic is sad, it only has steelies and I cannot afford rims. I picked up a used set of honda hubcaps for it and the black washers coz my civic never had them, just the lugnuts holding the oem steelies on. I go to put them on but the lugnuts being tapered, pulled the washer apart and the lugnuts then fit right thru the hole.. Is there a different style of lugnuts that would allow my to put the hubcaps on?

didn't I mention that you needed the lugs with the O ring around them?

not sure where to get them .. but you need the taper to properly fit the wheel. the o ring then holds the hubcap in place...

or at least thats how they were on my car when I got them

Well, like I said I got a set of these little black washer-o-ring type things, but the taper in my lug nuts just pulls it apart..

as to not being ashamed of my steelies, if they werent all rusting to hell, then I wouldn't mind..

And im cheap, 5$ a pop is not going to do. And i need a whole set perferably, or atleast 8, 2 per wheel.. that should hold it on alright if it has too..

Do what I did to my steelies. Take off your car. Clean 'em with a steel wire brush to get rid of the surface rust then get tremclad rust paint. Hey, it's your winter beater rims.........who really cares.
Looks far better than trying to hide rusty a$$ rims under cheap a$$ hubcaps.

ah.. but did I say they were my winter rims? They are my only rims

I want to put my hubcaps on, end of story. I already cleaned all the surface rust off 1 time, they rusted right back up. So I got some hubcaps off Gatherer and some black washers off another member on the board, now I need the lugnuts with the appropriate flat edge to fit my hubcaps on.. I will trade for a set of regular honda lugs!
