First off, I hope you know what your getting into with that exhaust.

Second, unless it is a bolt on, I believe you are going to have to wield it. Good place for that is RT Motorsport, went there for my muffler installation. Rick does a good job.

Hope that helps.

Well said.

Ok, so you wanna know, right?

The Ractive muffler is quite loud once you put that sucker on, some say they have been harrassed by cops for the loudness and others' say its fine. It's really upto you, but I find that majority of ppl usually agree its quite loud. Especially on the highway (It screams like a B****) Also with a tip that big, it must be a definite straight through and really loud. You be the judge, tell me how it goes if you do put it on.

i know Ractive is garbage when it comes to quality, but what can i do with a limited budget?

I wanted a loud b**** but being harassed by the cops? for real? i wonder if i could hook up a silencer to it, or i just won't be bait and rev infront of a cop.

thanks for all the help boys.

If you want a loud muffler, then it will satisfy that for you. Just try to avoid accidently reving really high in front of the cops. How? Don't speed. As for silencer, it may or may not have one for that particular muffler, just go back to the vendor you purchased it at and ask, but I believe there will be a charge for the silencer. Note for silencer, from other members, it doesn't really do anything with the sound and only makes the car sluggish.

Regards,
D-T

Shouldn't cost you more than $50-$100 at any decent muffler shop.

I have a reactive bolt on for my Eg and never have problems with cops. As for it being loud i would have to disagree, I drive over a 100 Km's a day on the highway and can withstand the noise.I've heard exhaust that is much louder then mine. Bolt on is a better option since you can do it yourself plus you can take it off for winters. I paid $400 for mine so they are expensive.

i have the option of exchanging mine for a similar muffler but with a bolt on ....i got quoted at 325...maybe its worth it, but in the ractive catalog, it says civics 92-00, do and of you think it will fit a 2001 and up also? the catalog is a bit old..

I don't think it will fit the 2001 and up Civics, the exhaust is different than the 92-00 Civics.

Yo i got the bolt on installed today, it couldn't have been easier, just jacked up the rear tire, took off the stock one, needed to use some liquid wrench, and put the new one.

Lord All Mighty is this Ractive Muffler loud. I'm lovin every moment of driving, i don't even need the radio anymore...
